Coming off another stellar track season, Aaron Nasers will look to make noise on the cross country course following an injury that cut his 2004 season to only one meet. Nasers will use his middle distance track talent and speed to lead the Huskers as a co-captain in 2005.

“Aaron is a good leader and is talented,” Coach Jay Dirksen said. “He has great speed and is a super competitor. I have a feeling that he’s going to run pretty well this year. He ran well in cross country while at <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Western Michigan, and I would think that once he gets into shape he’s going to have a pretty good year. He’ll also provide good leadership for our team.”

2004 (Sophomore)

In the first meet of the season, Nasers ran to a solid fourth-place finish at the Creighton/UNO Classic in the men’s 8K race (29:05.98).  He was diagnosed with a stress fracture following the meet and missed the rest of the season.

In track, Nasers narrowly missed the finals at the NCAA Midwest Outdoor Regional after placing fourth in the the first heat of the 800 meters in 1:50.28, 10th overall.  He was fourth at the outdoor Big 12 meet in the 800 in a personal-best time of 1:47.43. 2003 (Western Michigan)

Leading the Broncos to a fifth-place finish in the 12-team Mid-American Conference, Nasers finished 14th individually with a personal-best cross country 8K time of 24:45.3.  Nasers finished 130th in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, one of the toughest regionals in the country, with a time of 33:18.6 over the 10K course.

2002 (Western Michigan)

As a freshman, Nasers finished 56th at the 2002 MAC Cross Country Championships, helping the Broncos to a fourth-place team finish.

Indoors, Nasers recorded a 4:10.21 mile and 1:50.40 in the 800 meters.  Outdoors, he ran to a season-best 1:49.67 over 800 meters, a Western Michigan freshman record.
