Evan Helman was promoted to director of player development in February 2020 after joining the Nebraska baseball staff in July 2019 as a video and analytics intern.
In his role, Helman collaborates with baseball analytics, sports science, video operations, strength and conditioning, athletic training and nutrition to support the goal of improving on-field player performance. Helman is responsible for the support of technologies and data collection, the review and distribution of advanced reports and general coaching support.
To perform his duties Helman uses Rapsodo, Trackman, XOS, HitTrax, Synergy Sports, Blast Motion, WIN Reality VR and Catapult software.
A native of Lincoln, Neb., Helman graduated from Nebraska in May 2019 with a degree in business administration and a minor in mathematics and economics. Helman’s twin brother, Michael, played at Texas A&M under Will Bolt before being drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 11th round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
