2020: Sayer Diederich came out of the bullpen three times before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Compiled a 4.91 ERA in 3.2 innings of work • Lasted a season-high 2.0 innings in his Husker debut on Feb. 28 at Arizona State and recorded two strikeouts • Held Columbia scoreless in 1.0 inning of relief on March 7 (DH Game 1).

Before Nebraska: Diederich joined the Huskers from Elkhorn South High School in Omaha, Neb., where he played under Coach Brandon Dahl • Hit .408 with four home runs and 54 RBIs at the plate, while compiling a 1.80 ERA on the mound • As a senior, he earned first-team Super-State and first-team all-metro honors • Played summer baseball for North East Baseball under Coach Jeff Sullivan, where Diederich batted .365 and went 4-0 on the mound with a 0.96 ERA.
 
Personal: Born on Oct. 10, 2000 • Parents are Jason and Courtney Diederich • Has two sisters, Faith and Madden, and one brother, Canton • Majoring in sports media and communication.
