2015: Austin Christensen was a two-way player for the Husker in 2015, as hit in 24 games, including 19 starts, and also made six appearances on the mound, including one start • Hit .264 on the year with three doubles and five RBIs • Committed just one error at first base in 2015 chances • Had three multi-hit games, including a career-high four-hit performance against Minnesota on April 12 • Produced a 2.45 ERA in 14.2 innings of work with 10 strikeouts • Lone start on the mound came against Omaha on April 15 • Went 5.0 innings and only allowed one unearned run on five hits.

2014: After missing two seasons with an elbow injury, Christensen hit and pitched for the Huskers in 2014 • Made 26 starts at first base, producing seven multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games • Made 11 appearances on the mound, including three starts • Started the Big Ten Championship game and a game in the NCAA Tournament • Ended the year with a 3-0 record and a 4.95 ERA in 20.0 innings of work • Started Nebraska’s 8-6 win over Binghamton on May 31 at the NCAA Stillwater Regional • Didn’t factor into the decision though, giving up three runs on five hits over 3.1 innings • Started the Big Ten title game against Indiana on May 25 • Went 2.2 innings, and gave up three runs on four hits and a pair of walks • Earned the win after throwing 2.0 innings of perfect relief in a 7-6 comeback win over Ohio State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on May 21 • Made his first career start on the mound against Kansas State on April 15 • Hit first career triple in the seventh inning against UNLV on March 28 • Made his Husker debut on the mound with an inning of relief at Kansas State on March 26 • Gave up one unearned run on one hit • Drove in the game-tying run with two outs and then scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th on a walk-off single by Jake Placzek on March 19 against Creighton • Had a stellar weekend in three games at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge • Was 5-for-12 with a team-high six RBIs, including three RBIs and a double in a win over Washington on Feb. 22 • Delivered his first career multi-hit game with a 2-for-5 performance in a 9-2 win over No. 1 Oregon State on Feb. 21 • Made his Husker debut during the Husker Classic in Tempe, Ariz. • Notched his first career hit and scored a pair of runs in a win over Gonzaga on Feb. 15.

2013: Christensen missed the entire 2013 season following Tommy John surgery in the Fall of 2012.

2012: Christensen redshirted the 2012 season due to an elbow injury.

Before Nebraska: Christensen was named the 2011 Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year and was an honorable-mention Rawlings/Perfect Game High School Preseason All-American after leading the state in batting average (.555), hits (61), home runs (19) and strikeouts by a pitcher (82) • Also ranked in the state’s top three in runs (50) and RBIs (52) • Set school career records in home runs (42) and pitching wins (28) • Led John F. Kennedy to the 2011 Iowa 4A playoffs, but lost in the first round • Hit three home runs in a single game against Ottumwa on June 8, 2011 • Batted .492 with eight home runs and 44 RBIs as a junior, while also going 10-4 on the mound with a 1.94 ERA and 86 strikeouts • Led the Cougars to the 2010 Iowa 4A state title and was named State Championship Player of the Game • Was a four-time first-team all-metro, all-conference and all-district selection on the diamond.

Personal: Born on May 6, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa • Parents are Dick and Tracy Christensen • Has two brothers, Drew and Chad • Chad was a two-time All-Big Ten performer on the diamond for the Huskers from 2010 to 2013 and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins following his senior season in 2013, also drafted by the Miami Marlins following his junior season in 2012 • Majoring in history.
