2013: Stringer saw time at catcher in 11 games, including four starts, during his first season at Nebraska in 2013 • Ended the year with a .235 batting average (4-for-17), with a double and four RBIs • Was HBP against Michigan on May18, went on to steal his first career base at Nebraska • Saw time as a defensive replacement at Purdue on April 21 • Made his first start at catcher on March 20 at No. 8 Cal St. Fullerton • Went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in his first game at Hawks Field on March 6 against Northern Colorado • Made his Husker debut at No. 22 Cal St. Fullerton off the bench on Feb. 16 • Registered his first career hit in his first career at bat in the 8th against the Titans.
Before Nebraska: Stringer transferred to Nebraska after two seasons at Fort Scott CC • Graduated from Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha, Neb., where he was a 2009 underclass honorable-mention All-American by Perfect Game USA and was a 2010 Central Region honorable-mention pick • Hit .276 as a sophomore in 2012 with 34 hits, including six doubles, in 43 games • Added six steals in eight attempts • Tied for the team lead in batting average as a freshman at Fort Scott with a .394 average • Was one of the Greyhounds' top threats at the plate with 13 doubles, one triple, one home run and 47 RBIs • Was nearly perfect on the base paths with 10 steals in 11 attempts, while also cutting down 20-49 (.592) opposing runners • Earned second-team All-Nebraska honors as a designated hitter and first-team Class B accolades as a catcher from the Omaha World-Herald as a senior in 2010 at Skutt • Led Class B during the 2010 season in batting average (.488), doubles (12) and RBIs (47), while also ranking second in hits (41) and triples (6) • Led the Skyhawks to the No. 1 seed at the 2010 Class B state tournament with a 17-7 record, but fell to Omaha Gross in the title game • Chose Nebraska over Texas-San Antonio, Florida Atlantic and Northern Illinois.
