Tanner Krietemeier (pronounced CREET-eh-meyer) is part of a large corps of Colorado natives on the 2011 Husker roster • Will look to gain playing time in the outfield, although he also possesses strong pitching talent • Was one of the top newcomers in the Red-White Series, hitting .250 with two RBIs, as he started in right field for all three games • Played for the Danbury Westerners last summer.

Krietemeier is one of two Colorado natives in this year’s recruiting class after playing for Coach Tyler Munro at Rock Canyon High School • Earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior and senior, hitting .430 at the plate while producing a 1.22 ERA and striking out 85 on the mound in 2010 • Was a two-way performer who also earned honorable-mention all-state honors as a pitcher in 2009 • Named team MVP and was a first-team All-Continental League selection in 2009 and 2010 • Was a two-sport athlete who also earned first-team all-conference honors in football • Selected to play in the 2010 Top 50 Senior All-Star Game at Coors Field.
