Northeast Texas Community College/Mineola High School: Moore was one of the nation’s top junior college catchers playing for coaches Chad Tidwell and Chris Smith at Northeast Texas CC • Earned first-team All-Texas Eastern Athletic Conference honors in both seasons, hitting .395 with 14 homers, 66 RBIs and 18 doubles and a slugging percentage of .734 • Named Collegiate Baseball magazine’s national player of the week (for all levels) last season hitting .875 (7-for-8) with five homers, 17 RBIs and six walks in one three-game stint • Proved to be an outstanding defensive presence, throwing out 68 percent of base stealers, as Northeast Texas finished with a 35-21 record in 2004 • Was one of 17 players who signed Letters-of-Intents with Division I programs • Led NTCC to a conference title during his freshman year, hitting .381 with 14 homers and 60 RBIs • Selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 28th round of the 2003 MLB First-Year Player Draft • Threw out 67 percent of would-be base stealers and was chosen to play in the Texas/New Mexico Junior College All-Star game in 2003 • Played his high school baseball for Coach Hayland Hardy at Mineola High School, where he was a three-time all-state honoree • Selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 3A All-State Team in 2002, when he hit .517 with a school-record 18 homers, 49 RBIs and 42 runs scored • Named District MVP his final two years at Mineola, where he led his team to three straight district crowns • Also lettered in football, where he was a first-team all-district quarterback, and basketball, where he was the team MVP as a senior • Selected NU over a host of schools, including Missouri, Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
