2005: Fifth-year senior Brandon Fusilier (pronounced FEWSH-a-leer) provided a boost to the Husker offense after missing all of 2004 with a shoulder injury • Started 54 of the 57 games he played in • Hit .282 on thie season with 53 hits and 37 runs scored • Finished third on the team in home runs (12), RBIs (45), slugging percentage (.516), stolen bases (14) and HBPs (nine) • In the season opener, blasted a three-run homer (his first since April 2003), drew three walks and scored three times • In the doubleheader sweep of SDSU on March 12, recorded two hits with four RBIs, four runs scored and three stolen bases • Both him and teammate Curtis Ledbetter tied a NCAA and school record against SDSU on March 13 by hitting two homers in an inning • Was also 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk, three runs scored, and a career-best five RBIs • Notched three hits, including a double and his sixth homer of the season, three RBIs and two runs scored against Northern Colorado on March 17 • Hit his lone triple of the season in the April 6 win over Iowa, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored • Went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBIs and two stolen bases in the first game of a doubleheader against NDSU on April 13.

2004: Took a medical redshirt, as he recovered from shoulder surgery in September of 2003.

2003: Fusilier played a major role in Nebraska’s 2003 Big 12 title, hitting .289 with six homers and 41 RBIs in 48 contests • Made 43 starts, including 31 in left field, while also seeing time in right and at designated hitter • Ranked among the team leaders in RBIs (41, fourth) and doubles (12, third) despite missing part of the season with assorted injuries • Hit .359 with runners in scoring position, ranked third on the team with 11 multi-RBI contests and seventh with 14 multi-hit games • Proved to be one of NU’s best pinch-hitters going 3-for-5 including a walk-off double against Missouri on April 13 and a walk-off two-run triple against Oklahoma State on May 11• Got off to a fast start, driving in 21 runs in his first 11 games, including career-high four RBI performances against California (Feb. 16) and at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 23) • Awarded the Silver Stick, signifying the tournament’s top hitter, at the Dairy Queen Baseball Classic in Minneapolis after hitting .500 (7-for-14) with four doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored in the three-day tournament • Had three hits and three RBIs in a 6-0 win over No. 7 Wake Forest on March 1 • Was hampered by a wrist injury during conference play, hitting just .254 with two homers and 14 RBIs in 21 conference games • Enjoyed his best conference series in NU’s three-game sweep of Kansas State, going 4-for-12 with a homer, seven RBIs and five runs scored • Hit over .300 for nearly the entire season before going a combined 1-for-12 at the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Regional to finish the year at .289.

Navarro College/Coppell High School: Fusilier garnered first-team All-Texas Eastern Athletic Conference (TEAC) honors playing for Coach Skip Johnson at Navarro College • Tabbed the TEAC Most Valuable Player in 2002, batting .422 with 13 homers and 56 RBIs • Selected in the 45th round of the 2001 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Seattle Mariners • Started as a freshman at Navarro, batting .382 with 11 homers, 55 RBIs, 19 stolen bases and 37 runs scored, earning a selection to the Texas Junior College All-Star game • Played his high school ball at Coppell High School, helping his team to a 31-3 record as a senior in 2000 • Hit .375 en route to first-team all-district honors • Was part of a team that had three players drafted, including Jason Stokes, one of the top prospects in the Florida Marlins system • Selected Nebraska over Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Texas Tech and UT-Arlington.
