2012: Travis Huber transfered to Nebraska and played one season before signing with the Minnesota Twins after being drafted in the 23rd round of the 2012 MLB Draft • Worked as the Huskers' closer and led the team with seven saves • Ended the season with a 3.32 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 21.2 innings of work • Didn't give up an earned run in five appearances during Big Ten play • Picked up his first career save on Feb. 24 against Utah at the Kleberg Bank College Classic • Pitched a perfect ninth against Kansas State on March 6 with two strikeouts to earn his third save of the year • Notched his first career win on April 8 against Iowa when the Huskers rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth to win the weekend series with a 9-8 win • Earned his seventh and final save of the season on April 24 at Creighton with a perfect ninth inning, including two strikeouts, in a 4-1 NU win.

Huber joined the Huskers after two season at the College of Southern Idaho under Coach Boomer Walker • Posted a 6-3 record in 2011 for the Golden Eagles with a 3.75 ERA in 57.2 innings with 51 strikeouts • Was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 2011 MLB Draft for the second straight year • Was picked in the 39th round in 2011 after being a 47th-round pick by the Marlins in 2010 • Ranked second on the team in appearances as a freshman with 20 • Held opponents to a .229 batting average and struck out 40 hitters with a 2.27 ERA, while also tallying five saves • Was named first-team all-region (2008, 2009) and second-team all-state (2009) at West Jordan High School in Utah under Coach Brock Knight • Helped lead the Jaguars to a fourth-place finish at the 2009 Class 5A state tournament • Chose Nebraska over Utah, Virginia and South Alabama • Attended high school with NU basketball guard Ray Gallegos.
