2018: Jake Hohensee (pronounced HO-en-see) earned second-team All-America honors from the NCBWA during his final season at Nebraska • Also collected second-team Midwest All-Region accolades from ABCA/Rawlings and a spot on the NCBWA Stopper-of-the-Year Midseason Watch List • Spent the season as Nebraska’s closer after being the team’s Friday night starter in 2017 • Led the Huskers with 13 saves, which ranks tied for third on Nebraska’s single-season saves list and tied for sixth on NU’s career saves list • Ranked second on the team with 19 appearances and fifth in strikeouts (28) • Went 1-0 with a 1.05 ERA, allowing only three runs in 25.2 innings • Walked only six batters, as opponents hit .141 against him • Ended his career (2014-18) with a 9-6 record and a 3.69 ERA in 63 appearances (17 starts), while striking out 121 batters • In his final game as a Husker, he went 2.0 no-hit scoreless innings en route to the save at Illinois on May 19 • Made a pair of scoreless outings during the Indiana series for a span of 3.2 innings, earning the save on May 11 • Recorded a season-high six strikeouts in a season-high 2.2 innings in the series finale against the Hoosiers on May 13 • Earned two saves during the Maryland series, amassing 3.2 innings over the weekend • Made two appearances during the Nevada series and earned a save both times, totaling 2.0 scoreless innings against the Wolf Pack • Earned the save at Kansas State on April 10 when he went 2.0 no-hit scoreless innings with one strikeout • Recorded three strikeouts in 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save at Ohio State on March 30 • Threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief with two strikeouts to earn the save on March 21 at Oral Roberts, and surpassed the 100-career strikeout milestone during the outing • Earned the win in Nebraska’s extra-inning thriller at Wichita State on March 4 when he threw 2.0 scoreless innings with one strikeout • Went 2-for-2 in save opportunities during the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge with a pair of scoreless 1.0-inning outings against Utah • Made two scoreless relief appearances during the opening weekend of the season, not allowing a hit in 1.2 innings of work • Earned his first career save against Washington State on Feb. 18.

2017: Hohensee came back from Tommy John surgery to make 14 starts in 2017 • Earned third-team All-Big Ten accolades after going 7-3 with a 4.39 ERA • Had the lowest opposing batting average among Husker starters (.243) • Tied for the most strikeouts on the team (57) • Threw 80.0 innings, the second-most among the Husker pitchers • His seven wins were the second-most among the Husker starters, behind Jake Meyers (8) • Named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week after going a career-high 8.1 innings against Maryland on April 7, when he allowed one run on three hits and struck out eight Terps for the win • In a span of eight starts from March 17 to May 5, he went 6-0 • Went 7.1 innings with five strikeouts and zero walks at Indiana on March 31 • Career-high 10 strikeouts against Rutgers on May 5 • Struck out six Boilermakers in a 6.0 inning outing on May 24 to help NU win its first game of the Big Ten Tournament.

2016: Hohensee had Tommy John surgery following the 2015 campaign and missed the entire 2016 season.

2015: Hohensee battled an elbow injury in 2015 and was limited to 17.1 innings over 12 relief appearances • Finished the year with a 1-0 record and a 2.08 ERA • Gave up just four earned runs all year, with three coming in his final appearance of the season at Illinois • After giving up an earned run at UNLV on Feb. 15, tossed 12.0 scoreless innings over his next nine appearances • Struck out five over 2.1 innings in the season-opening 2-0 win at UNLV • Threw 2.0 shutout innings in a 1-0 victory over No. 16 Texas on March 28 that lasted 15 innings • Tabbed as Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week, along with Kyle Kubat, Colton Howell and Jeff Chesnut, following a 15-inning shutout of Texas • Earned his lone win of the year with an inning of scoreless relief at Kansas State on April 7.

2014: Hohensee made 18 appearances for the Huskers in 2014, including three starts • Ended the season with an 0-3 record and a 5.08 ERA • Produced 22 strikeouts in 28.1 innings • Saw 1.2 innings of relief work against Binghamton on May 31 at the Stillwater Regional • Gave up three runs, all unearned, on two hits and two walks • Made his NCAA Tournament debut against Cal State Fullerton on May 30 and tossed a perfect inning of relief with one strikeout • Struck out four batters in 2.0 innings of relief against Penn State in a 9-2 win on May 3 • Went 4.0 innings in a start at Creighton on April 8 • Didn’t factor into the decision, left the game trailing 2-0 and Nebraska rallied to win 4-2 • Went 4.0 innings in his second career start on April 1 at Arkansas • Took the loss against the Razorbacks after giving up four runs on five hits • Made his first career start against Northern Colorado on March 12, taking the loss after allowing three runs on three hits over 2.0 innings in a 9-2 NU loss • Finished a 9-2 win over No. 1 Oregon State on Feb. 21 by throwing a scoreless ninth inning • Gave up a leadoff hit and then retired three straight Beavers, including a strikeout • Threw a shutout inning of relief against Gonzaga on Feb. 16 and notched his first strikeout after giving up two runs on a hit and two walks over 0.1 inning of work in his debut against the Zags the day before on Feb. 15.

Before Nebraska: Hohensee joined the Huskers in January of 2014 after not enrolling at any school during the 2013 fall semester • Graduated from Lincoln East High School in 2013 and was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 2 overall prep player in the state of Nebraska • Was 5-2 as a senior with a school-record 1.00 ERA • Also set the school record for strikeouts in a season with 89 over 49.0 innings, while only allowing 10 walks and holding opponents to a .178 batting average • Earned first-team Super-State honors from the Lincoln Journal Star in 2013 after being a second-team Super-State pick in 2012 • Was an All-Nebraska honorable-mention pick by the Omaha World-Herald in 2013 • Finished runner-up for Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.
