Named a freshman All-American, earning first-team recognition from Perfect Game and second-team honors from NCBWA. • Selected as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year while also named to the All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Freshman Team. • Appeared in 53 games, including 47 starts in first season at Nebraska. • Batted .326 with 13 doubles, one triple and seven home runs. • Posted a .417 on-base percentage and .531 slugging percentage. • Drove in 44 runs while scoring 33 runs. • Recorded 17 multi-hit games, including five games with three hits. • Had 10 multi-RBI games, including two four-RBI performances and one five-RBI game. • Tied single-season school record with a 1.000 fielding percentage (min. 100 chances). • Tied a school record with three doubles in a win at Creighton. • Earned recognition as the Big Ten’s Co-Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, Perfect Game’s National Freshman of the Week, NCBWA’s National Hitter of the Week, Baseball America’s National Team of the Week after leading the Huskers to a 4-0 week against Creighton at No. 12 USC. • Went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI at Kansas State. • Also had three hits against Maine, No. 12 USC, Creighton and Minnesota. • Drove in five runs at Kansas State, four runs against No. 12 USC (twice) and three runs vs. Creighton (twice). • Homered against Wichita State, Kansas State (twice), Penn State, Creighton and No. 12 USC (twice). 

Bellevue West High School
Tabbed the No. 134 shortstop nationally and the No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Nebraska by Perfect Game. • Was a two-time Super-State honoree and three-time all-state and all-conference selection. • Batted .450 with seven homers, 27 RBI and 26 runs scored as a senior. • Led the Thunderbirds to a second-straight state tournament berth after hitting .457 with 48 hits, 16 RBI and 42 runs in junior season. • Recorded a .419 batting average with 44 hits, 18 RBI and 36 runs scored while helping the Thunderbirds to state quarterfinal. •Set single-game state record for home runs and holds Bellevue West’s single-season records in runs, hits, at-bats, home runs and total bases. • Capped prep career as Bellevue West’s all-time record holder in at-bats, batting average, runs, hits, homers, RBI, walks, stolen bases and strikeouts (pitching).

Parents are Dan and Paula Grego. • Has one sister, Brooke. • Father, Dan, played baseball at Bellevue University. • Majoring in business administration.
