2017: Derek Burkamper finished his career with a 17-13 record and earned a 3.65 ERA with 151 strikeouts • As a senior, made a team-high 15 starts for the Huskers, pitching a career-high 71.1 innings, third-most on the team • Went 6-6, ranking third on the team in wins • Compiled a 3.53 ERA with 49 strikeouts • Tied for the fewest runs allowed on the team (32) • Won his final start at Hawks Field on May 13, pitching 7.0 innings and allowed two runs, neither of which was earned, against Michigan State • Continued the momentum in his next start at Penn State on May 19, pitching 5.0 scoreless innings to earn the win • His win over Penn State marked four consecutive starts where he earned a win • Tossed 5.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts at Ohio State on April 29 • Allowed just one hit and struck out five in 6.2 innings against College of Charleston on March 18.

2016: Burkamper entered 2016 as NU’s most experienced starting pitcher and went on to make a team-high 12 starts for the Huskers • Ended the year with a 6-3 record and a 3.09 ERA over a career-high 70.0 innings • Struck out a career-best 55 batters and held opponents to a .219 average • Went 3-1 in six Big Ten starts with a 3.27 ERA over 33.0 innings • Tossed at least 5.0 innings in 10 of his 12 starts, including four starts of 7.0 innings or more • Made his season debut at Long Beach State on March 5 and struck out a career-high eight in 5.0 shutout innings • Followed his outing against the Dirtbags with 7.0 shutout innings and seven strikeouts against Loyola Marymount on March 11 • Longest outing of the year came at home against Nicholls State on April 22 • Gave up one run to the Colonels over 8.0 innings • Allowed just four earned runs in 24.2 innings over his final four Big Ten starts of the year, including 7.0 shutout innings at Rutgers and 7.1 scoreless frames against Indiana at home.

2015: Burkamper saw his role in the Husker pitching staff grow in 2015, as the sophomore became part of the weekend rotation • Worked primarily as the Sunday starter and went 5-3 with a 3.84 ERA in 12 starts over 65.2 innings • Struck out 44 batters, while walking 17, and his opponent batting average of .267 was the lowest in NU’s weekend rotation • Was 2-2 in seven Big Ten starts with a 4.59 ERA • Went 5.0 or more innings in nine of his 12 starts, including 6.0 or more innings five times • Tossed a career-high 8.1 innings in a six-strikeout win over Texas on March 29 • Threw 7.0 scoreless innings and struck out a then-career-high seven in a win at Northwestern on May 3.

2014: Burkamper made five appearances for the Huskers in 2014, including one start • Finished the year with an 8.59 ERA over 7.1 innings of work • Saw his first relief appearance against Utah on Feb. 23 • Threw 2.0 innings against the Utes, giving up one earned run on five hits • Was tagged for the loss in his Husker debut, as he started against Gonzaga on Feb. 16 at the Husker Classic in Tempe, Ariz. • Lasted 3.0 innings, allowing five runs on six hits • Started the game with a 1-2-3 first inning.

Before Nebraska: Burkamper was drafted in the 20th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, but turned down professional baseball to become a Husker • Tabbed the 121st national recruit and the 32nd-best right-handed prep pitcher in the country by Perfect Game • Posted an 11-2 record in 2013 with a 0.99 ERA over 77.2 innings of work at Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa • Notched 130 strikeouts to just 15 walks • Was a first-team All-Central Region pick by Rawlings/Perfect Game and was selected as the Mississippi Athletic Conference Player of the Year • Participated in the 2013 Iowa/Illinois All-Star Game • Was 8-5 as a junior with a 1.17 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 83.2 innings • Was named a second-team all-state pick by the Iowa Newspaper Association and the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association in 2012 • Was named to the 2012 WWBA Kernels Foundation Championship all-tournament team after throwing three no-hit innings with five strikeouts • Opened the 2012 Iowa 4A sub-state playoffs with an 11-strikeout performance against Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
