2008:  Junior college transfer Aaron Pribanic (pronounced Pra-ban-ick) was NU’s No. 3 starter in Big 12 action ? Ended the season with a 3-4 record and a 4.72 ERA in 17 appearances, ranking third in the Big 12 in both complete games (two) and shutouts (one) ? Became the first Husker pitcher since Aaron Marsden in 2003 to throw consecutive complete games in his first two starts, firing complete games against UC Riverside (March 2) and Northern Colorado (March 10) ? Pitched in NU’s NCAA Regional against Eastern Illinois on May 30, giving up three runs in the ninth inning of NU’s 13-10 victory ? Worked out of the bullpen in the Big 12 Tournament, allowing one earned run on three hits over four innings of work, including three frames against No. 6 Oklahoma State on May 24 ? Took the loss in the regular-season finale at No. 12 Missouri, allowing three runs on four hits in just 1.2 innings of work ? Had a no-decision against ninth-ranked Texas A&M, allowing three earned runs on seven hits over 5.0 innings in a game the Huskers rallied to win 13-10 ? Turned in his fifth quality start of the year in a no-decision against Louisiana-Lafayette on May 3, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings while striking out five in a game that NU eventually won 4-3 in 14 innings ? Worked out of the bullpen against Western Illinois on April 30, tossing two innings of no-hit relief in a 6-1 Husker win ? Struggled in the series finale at Baylor on April 27, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks in one inning of work ? Pitched well in a loss against Kansas on April 20, allowing two runs over six innings and striking out a career-best eight hitters before giving up three runs in the seventh of a 6-3 loss ? Had a no-decision in the series finale at No. 21 Oklahoma State allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings in a game the Huskers won 14-5 ? Earned the victory in the series finale at Texas Tech, allowing three runs over six innings, as he struck out six in a 5-3 win ? Suffered the loss at No. 13 Texas on March 30, allowing six runs on seven hits over six innings, as Texas scored three in the first and three in the third against the right-hander ? Turned in a strong performance against Oklahoma on March 23, allowing three runs over 7.2 innings while striking out six as he left with a 6-3 lead ? Was solid against Kansas State on March 16, allowing two unearned runs on two hits, as he struck out three before leaving with a 2-2 tie ? Dominated Northern Colorado on March 10, tossing a complete-game five hitter, striking out seven without a walk in a 101-pitch gem  ? Allowed only three runners to reach scoring position and did not walk a hitter in throwing his second consecutive complete game ? Turned in a strong performance against UC Riverside on March 2, tossing a complete-game five hitter with five strikeouts in a 13-1 win, a game that was shortened because of the run rule  ? With his performance against UC Riverside, he became the first Husker pitcher to throw a complete game in his first start since Aaron Marsden in 2002 ? Pitched 2.2 innings of relief against Stanford on Feb. 24 (listed as Feb. 23 because that is when the game began), allowing one run on four hits 

Hutchinson Community College/Plano East High School: Pribanic pitched for two seasons at Hutchinson CC for Coach Kyle Crookes ? Compiled a 6-1 record with a 3.33 ERA in 2007, striking out 64 over 67.2 innings for the Blue Dragons, who finished 30-25 on the season ? Led HCC in innings pitched, strikeouts and complete games (2) in 2007, as he held foes to a .234 average ? Went 2-1 with a 3.88 ERA in nine starts in 2006, striking out 54 over 48.2 innings and holding opponents to a .215 batting average ? Redshirted as a freshman in 2005 as Hutchinson CC made the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. ? Was 2-2 with a 3.48 ERA playing for Brainerd (Minn.) in the Northwoods League over the summer ? Tossed a complete-game five-hitter in his first start of the summer ? Chose NU over Florida Atlantic.

Personal: Born on Sept. 1, 1986, in Fairfax, Va. ? Parents are Carl and Janie Pribanic ? Has one sister (Emily) and one brother (Ian) ? Majors in sociology at Nebraska and has a cumulative 3.26 GPA ? Grandfather was Jim Coates, who pitched nine seasons in the Major Leagues and earned MLB All-Star honors in 1960 ? Coates was a member of the Yankees’ World Series champions in both 1961 and 1962 and a teammate of Husker great Bob Cerv.
