2020: Aaron Dolney played in two games before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Drew a walk and scored a run in his Husker debut at Arizona State on Feb. 28.
Before Nebraska: Dolney joined the Huskers from Detroit Country Day High School in Michigan, where he played under Coach Steve Lepkowski • In 2019, he batted .435 with six home runs, 31 RBIs and nine stolen bases en route to first-team all-state and Michigan Dream Team honors • Also earned all-region and all-district accolades • Was named a Preseason All-American by Rawlings/Perfect Game and Michigan’s PBR Preseason Position Player of the Year • Ranked as the No. 1 catcher in the state of Michigan by Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report • In 2018, he batted .425 with four home runs and 25 RBIs on his way to second-team all-state recognition as well as all-region and all-district honors • In 2017, he hit .343 with two home runs and 26 RBIs, five of which he drove in during the district finals • On the mound, he compiled a 1.79 ERA with 126 strikeouts in 117 innings pitched during his career • Tossed three no-hitters and two one-hitters during his high school career • Was named a KLAA Scholar Athlete on two occasions • Played summer baseball for the Midland Braves under Coach Kyle Wainscott, where he helped the team win the 17U PBR World Series title.
