2019: Nate Fisher made 15 starts on the mound during his senior season and went 7-3 with a 3.27 ERA • Led the Husker pitching staff in wins (7), opposing batting average (.244), while ranking second in ERA (3.27), strikeouts (68) and innings pitched (82.2) • Recorded six strikeouts during his season debut at UC Riverside on Feb. 16, allowing no runs and only three hits in 5.0 innings • Won three consecutive starts from March 9 to 31, going more than 7.0 innings on all three occasions • Tossed 8.0 no-hit scoreless innings at Baylor on March 9 en route to Big Ten Co-Pitcher-of-the-Week honors • Earned the win against Michigan State on March 22, allowing only one run in 7.1 innings • Struck out seven batters in 8.0 innings at Minnesota on March 31 and gave up only one run • Strung together three straight wins from May 11 to 24 with seven strikeouts in each appearance • During that stretch against Arizona State, Michigan and Iowa, he allowed only two runs in 18.1 innings.
2018: Fisher started seven of his 15 appearances on the mound as a junior, going 1-5 with a 7.24 ERA in 46.0 innings pitched • Allowed the fewest walks among all Husker starting pitchers (10), while recording the fourth-most strikeouts on the team (30) • Allowed two runs in 2.1 innings against Indiana on May 13, recording three strikeouts in the process • Recorded four strikeouts in 3.2 innings of relief against Maryland on May 5, allowing one run on two hits and one walk • Tossed 4.0 innings of relief against Kansas State on April 17, recording two strikeouts and allowed one run • Allowed one run on four hits and struck out two batters in 4.2 innings as the starter at Creighton on March 27 • Made the start at Oral Roberts on March 21 and threw 4.0 innings, giving up one run on five hits and struck out three batters • Earned the win in his start against Cal Poly on March 10 when he gave up only one run in 5.0 innings and recorded four strikeouts • Made his first career start on Feb. 17 against UC Riverside • Struck out a career-high seven batters against the Highlanders and gave up two runs on four hits in 5.0 innings of work.
2017: Fisher made 15 appearances covering 27.2 innings out of the bullpen • Went 1-1 with 23 strikeouts and nine walks • Longest outing was 4.2 innings on March 25 at Cal Poly where he recorded four strikeouts to earn the win • Recorded four strikeouts at Omaha in 3.1 innings on April 5 • In six consecutive relief appearances from March 31 to April 22, he did not give up a run • The scoreless innings streak included back-to-back 2.0-inning showings on April 18 at Creighton and April 22 at Minnesota.
2016: Fisher had Tommy John surgery in the summer of 2015 and missed the 2016 season.
2015: Fisher made nine appearances out of the bullpen in 2015 and finished the year with one save and a 3.86 ERA over 9.1 innings • Struck out eight on the year, while giving up five walks and eight hits • Tossed an inning of scoreless relief and struck out two Cougars in his collegiate debut against BYU on Feb. 20 • Didn’t allow a run and struck out six batters in 4.0 innings over his first four appearances • All four of the earned runs he gave up on the season came in two outings • Closed out NU’s victory over Omaha on April 15 for his first career save.
Before Nebraska: Fisher graduated from Yutan High School, where he was a team captain in baseball, football and basketball • Played for the Platte Valley Patriots, which included players from Yutan, Ashland and Mead high schools • Was a 2014 second-team All-Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald and a second-team Super-State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star • Earned first-team Class B all-state honors from both state newspapers in 2014 • Was 5-1 in 2014 with a 1.67 ERA and 87 strikeouts • Also was productive at the plate with a .500 average and three home runs • Averaged nearly a double-double per game on the hardwood with 20.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game • Excelled in the classroom and was a four-year member of the student council, while also serving as Student Body President in 2013.
