2018: Matt Warren made 14 appearances on the mound as a senior, including 12 starts, and compiled a 4-4 record • Ranked third on the team in ERA (5.77), third in strikeouts (38), second in fewest hits (64), second in opposing batting average (.279) and third in innings pitched (57.2) • Went 5.0 innings in the season finale at Illinois on May 19 and allowed three runs on three hits and recorded two strikeouts • Pitched 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win against Maryland on May 6, allowing five hits and recorded four strikeouts • Recorded five strikeouts in 4.2 innings at Rutgers on April 22, allowing three runs on three hits in a no decision • Made his first relief appearance since 2014 when he came out of the bullpen at Michigan State on April 8 for 2.2 innings and allowed one run • Gave up two runs (one earned run) in 4.2 innings with three strikeouts against Minnesota on March 25 • Tossed 5.0 innings en route to the win against Northwestern State on March 18 • Earned the win in the series finale against Cal Poly on March 10 when he gave up two runs on only three hits and recorded three strikeouts in 5.2 innings • Earned the win against Utah on Feb. 25 when he threw 5.2 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) and struck out five Utes • Made his first start at Nebraska on Feb. 18 against Washington State, where he tossed 5.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and struck out four Cougars.

2017: Warren sat out the 2017 season as he recovered from Tommy John surgery.

Before Nebraska: Warren transferred to Nebraska from Creighton University, where he graduated with a degree in psychology and a minor in business administration • Ended his Creighton career ranked in the top five in program history in multiple categories, including fifth in wins (22), fifth in ERA (2.69) and third in winning percentage (.759, 22-7) • His 10 wins and 2.03 ERA in 2014 both rank fifth in the Jays’ single-season record book • Was a four-year letterwinner for the Jays • Had a 4-1 record and a 2.05 ERA over five starts in 2016 before an elbow injury cost him the rest of the season • Was tabbed as the 2015 Big East Preseason Co-Pitcher of the Year and a second-team Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American • Led the Jays in starts as a junior in 2015 with 13 • Was 5-2 with a 2.83 ERA and 37 strikeouts to only 10 walks • Was named a Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger second-team All-American as a sophomore in 2014 after leading the Jays in wins (10), ERA (2.03), innings pitched (84.1) and strikeouts (45) • Also was a semifinalist for the 2014 Gregg Olson National Breakout Player of the Year Award • Made 15 appearances, including six starts, as a freshman in 2013 • Finished the year 3-3 with a 4.31 ERA over 39.2 innings • Graduated from Skutt Catholic High School in Omaha in 2012 • Was a three-year letterwinner for the Skyhawks • Helped the team to a Class B runner-up finish in 2010, as well as third-place finishes in 2011 and 2012 • Left the school with multiple single-season records, including complete games (7), ERA (0.66), wins in a season (9) and innings pitched (63.1) • Also set the school career record for strikeouts with 345 • Was 9-0 with a 0.66 ERA as a senior and tossed a complete game in seven of his 10 starts • Notched 86 strikeouts in 63.1 innings • Was a first-team Super-State pick by the Lincoln Journal Star and a first-team All-Nebraska selection by the Omaha World-Herald in 2012 • Named first-team Class B all-state by both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star in 2011 and 2012 • Threw two complete-game no-hitters in 2012 and was part of two more • One no-hitter was against Waverly in the state tournament and included 11 strikeouts.
