2022: Gomes played in 28 games, making 23 starts at first base or designated hitter for the Huskers. • Hit .333 with 28 hits, six doubles and seven home runs. • Totaled 20 runs batted in and scored 17 runs. • Had a .655 slugging percentage and .396 on-base percentage. • Tallied eight multi-hit games, including a three-hit game at Sam Houston in the season opener. • Drove in a season-high four runs at Illinois after going 2-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam. • Added a pair of three-RBI games against Omaha and Rutgers. • Made two relief appearances on the mound. • Recorded the final two outs in 12-9 win at Sam Houston. • Pitched 0.2 innings in 4-3 loss at UT Arlington.

2021: Colby Gomes missed the 2021 season due to injury.

2020: Gomes made four starts on the mound, tied for the most on the team with Cade Povich, before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Went 0-1 with a 6.89 ERA across 15.2 innings, tied for the second-most innings pitched on the team • Tossed a season-high 5.0 innings at San Diego State on Feb. 22 and allowed one run on only two hits • Recorded a season-high three strikeouts on March 7 (DH Game 1) against Columbia in 4.1 innings.

2019: Gomes received first-team NCBWA Freshman All-America honors as a relief pitcher after serving as Nebraska’s closer in 2019 • Recorded 13 saves, which tied for 11th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten • His 13-save total tied for the third-most in a single season by a Husker pitcher • Made 19 mound appearances and compiled 19 strikeouts and a 4.09 ERA in 22.0 innings • Started his first two outings of the season before coming out the bullpen for his final 17 appearances • Didn’t allow an earned run in 10 consecutive appearances from March 1 to April 21, earning eight saves during that stretch • As a position player, he started 43 of his 44 games with 40 starts at first base, two as the designated hitter and one at third base • Hit .209 (31-for-148) with one home run, eight doubles, 19 runs scored and 18 RBIs • Managed six multi-hit games and three multi-RBI performances • Earned Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week accolades on March 4 • Went 2-for-4 with a run scored at Baylor on March 9 • During the Air Force series, he went 3-for-8 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in two games • Went 2-for-4 in the second game of a doubleheader against Michigan State on March 22 with three RBIs and a double • Smashed a home run as part of a 2-for-4 performance against Michigan (DH 2) on May 17 with three RBIs.

Before Nebraska: Gomes played high school baseball at Millard West under Coach Steve Frey • Named the 2018 Perfect Game Nebraska Player of the Year • Earned first-team all-state honors in 2017 and 2018 • Went 14-2 during his career on the mound with a 2.25 earned-run average and 131 strikeouts in 23 appearances • Batted .296 for his career with 10 home runs, 69 RBIs, 79 hits and 21 doubles • Named an honorable-mention All-American and first-team All-Central Region by Rawlings-Perfect Game in 2018 • In 2018, he batted .305 with three home runs and 23 RBIs, while going 7-0 on the mound with a 1.05 ERA and 68 strikeouts • In 2017, he batted .273 with four home runs and 25 RBIs, while compiling a 1.56 ERA and a 5-1 mark with 42 strikeouts on the mound • In 2016, he hit .309 with three homers and 10 doubles, while going 2-1 on the mound with 21 strikeouts • Also earned two letters in basketball • Played summer ball for the Roof Tech Wildcats under Coach Steve Frey.

Personal: Born on Sept. 20, 1999 • Parents are Shellie and Justin Gomes • Justin lettered for the Nebraska baseball team in 1995 and 1996, while Shellie (Hegge) lettered for the diving team in 1994 and 1995 • Middle name is Davis after former Cincinnati Red Eric Davis • Has one sister, Nolan, and one brother, Tristan • Child, youth and family studies major who earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2022 • Hobbies include disc golf.
