2022: Brice Matthews appeared in 45 games, making 44 starts for the Huskers. • Hit .261 at the plate with eight doubles and seven home runs. • Totaled 41 hits, 29 RBI and 31 runs. • Recorded 10 multi-hit games. • Tallied a team-high 12 stolen bases. • Compiled nine multi-RBI games. • Notched a season-best reached base streak of 22 games. • Posted two games with three hits after going 3-for-4 with a run vs. Omaha and 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs at Ohio State. • Collected two stolen bases against UT Arlington, Omaha and New Mexico State. • Homered against TCU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Indiana (two times), Omaha, Iowa and Michigan State.

2021: Matthews was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and All-Fayetteville Regional Team. • Played in 39 games, making 36 starts in first season with the Huskers. • Hit .273 with a triple and five home runs. • Tied for third on team with eight doubles and fourth on the team with seven stolen bases. • Tallied a .462 slugging percentage and .381 on-base percentage. • Recorded 13 multi-hit games. • Compiled 11 multi-RBI games. • Had a season-high three hits vs. Northwestern after going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. • Garnered season-high five RBI vs. Maryland. • Homered against Iowa, Maryland (two times), Indiana and NJIT. • Scored a season-high three runs vs. Maryland. • Collected two stolen bases against Illinois and Maryland.

Before Nebraska: Matthews joined the Huskers from Atascocita High School in Texas, where he played under Coach Eric Matthews • Ranked by Prep Baseball Report as a Top-100 player in Texas and the No. 3 player at his position • During a breakout junior season, Matthews was selected as the 6A Utility Player of the Year and Greater Houston Area Infielder of the Year • In addition, he earned a spot on the USA Baseball NTIS South Texas Team, Houston Area High School All-Star Team and the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team • Batted .426 with four home runs, 42 hits and 23 stolen bases during his junior campaign, slugging .647 with a .535 on-base percentage • Was also the starting quarterback for Atascocita's football team and was named the Offensive MVP in 2018.
