Senior (2021-22)
Tom Westenberger was a leader for Nebraska during the fall season as the only Husker to compete in all 12 rounds. His growth as a golfer showed in Nebraska's final two tournaments of the fall when he carded six consecutive rounds of par or better to close 2021.

He finished the fall with a career-best 211 (-5) at the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Fla. (Oct. 17-18). He opened the tournament with a career-best 69 (-3) on the 7,460-yard layout at Quail Valley, before adding rounds of 70 and 72. He was Nebraska's top finisher in a tie for 19th in a strong 84-player field.

Westenberger went to Florida after firing a then-career-best 212 (-4) at the Rich Harvest Farms Invitational in Sugar Grove, Ill. (Oct. 2-4). He was NU's top finisher, producing a tie for 10th that included a second-round 70 (-2) sandwiched by rounds of 71 on the 7,200-yard layout at Rich Harvest Farms.

With Westenberger leading the way, Nebraska produced six consecutive team rounds under par, which is believed to be the first time in school history that the Huskers have accomplished that feat.

Westenberger opened his third season in Lincoln as Nebraska's No. 3 individual finisher at the Rod Myers Invitational (Sept. 11-12). The senior from Wuppertal, Germany, closed with a three-round total of 226 (+10) on the par-72, 7,154-yard layout of the Duke University Golf Course. His performance included a second-round 71 (-1), as he tied for 53rd in an 81-player field at Duke.

It marked the fourth time in 2021-22 that Westenberger was NU's top tournament performer. At the Hawkeye Invitational on April 16-17, Westenberger settled for a three-round score of 230 (74-75-81) to tie for 62nd, followed by a 243 (83-81-79) at the Big Ten Championship to finish in 67th.

He opened the tournament with his first round better than par as a Husker with a 71 (-1) before adding back-to-back rounds of 73 to help the Huskers finish seventh as a team.

Westenberger’s performance at the Tradition Club followed his first career top-10 finish as a Husker with a tie for seventh at 223 (75-74-74) at the Hoosier Collegiate (April 3-4). He helped Nebraska to a third-place finish in a strong nine-team field at The Pfau Course in Bloomington.

He followed that up at the Lamkin San Diego Classic (March 8-10), producing NU’s No. 4 individual finish with a 237 (79-81-77).
