Senior (2021-22)
One of three 2019 junior college All-Americans who returned to Nebraska for a third season in 2021-22, Branden Meyer continues to compete for lineup spots and contribute to the team's success.
The senior from Gilbert, Ariz., earned his first lineup appearance of the fall season at the Rich Harvest Farms Invitational in Sugar Grove, Ill. (Oct. 2-4). He uncorked the best tournament performance of his Husker career with three consecutive rounds of 71 (-1) on the 7,200-yard layout at Rich Harvest Farms to finish with a career-best 213 (-3) in a tie for 14th.
Meyer was back in the Big Red lineup to close the fall at the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Fla. (Oct. 17-18). He was Nebraska's No. 5 finisher at the event with a 233, contributing a final-round 72 on the 7,460-yard layout at Quail Valley. With Meyer in the lineup, Nebraska produced six consecutive team rounds under par, which is believed to be the first time in school history the Huskers have accomplished that feat.
He closed the fall campaign with a solid 74.33 stroke average over six rounds.
He has continued to perform well in the spring, tying for 20th with a 222 (76-74-72) at the Desert Mountain Collegiate (March 5-6). He managed a tie for 43rd at 225 (74-82-69) as Nebraska's No. 3 finisher at the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C. (March 27-28). His performance in Wilmington included a career-best 69 (-3) in the final round.
Meyer added NU's No. 3 finish at the Stitch Intercollegiate (April 8-9) in Raleigh, N.C., tying for 26th overall with another 225 (76-75-74). He put up his best 54-hole score in the 2022 spring season at the Hawkeye Invitational (April 16-17) with a 220, powered by a 70 (-2) in the final round. This landed Meyer a spot in the top 25 individually, tying for 22nd and finishing as Nebraska's No. 2 golfer. At the Big Ten Championship, Meyer shot a 240 (79-76-85) to place 65th and close the season.
Through 21 total rounds in 2021-22, Meyer carries a 75.14 stroke average.
A standout in the classroom and on the course, Meyer is a two-time GCAA All-America Scholar.
Senior (2020-21)
After a solid first season at Nebraska that was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, Meyer returned as a leader for the Huskers in 2020-21. Although the 2020 fall collegiate season was not held in the Big Ten Conference, Meyer had a strong summer and fall playing individually. He opened the collegiate season in the spring with four matches at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Florida (Feb. 5-6).
Meyer was a consistent contributor in Nebraska’s spring stroke play tournaments. He posted NU’s No. 3 individual total with a 233 (77-79-77) at the Lamkin San Diego Classic (March 8-10). He finished 86th in a loaded 20-team field at the San Diego Country Club.
He also helped the Huskers to a third-place finish in a solid nine-team field at the Hoosier Invitational (April 3-4). Meyer posted the team’s No. 3 individual score with a 230 (77-76-77) to tie for 32nd. He followed with a 238 (79-78-81) at the Aggie Invitational (April 9-11), before tying for 46th with a 230 (76-78-76) at the Git-R-Done Husker Invitational at Firethorn (April 17-18).
Meyer finished the season with a 77.58 stroke average over 12 rounds.
Junior (2019-20)
Meyer posted Nebraska’s No. 2 stroke average (75.53) in his first year as a Husker before the worldwide outbreak of COVID-19 ended the college sports season in mid-March.
He opened his Husker career by tying for 41st with a 224 (+8) at the Rod Myers/Duke Invitational. He followed with a tie for 11th with a 224 (+5) at the Prairie Club Invitational in Valentine. He added a tie for 45th at the Maridoe Intercollegiate and tied for 57th at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate.
Meyer opened the spring by going 3-1 individually to help Nebraska to a fourth-place finish at the Big Ten Match Play Championship, as the Huskers tied their best finish in history at the tournament.
He closed the season as Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate by shooting a 226 (+10) to tie for 32nd.
Before Nebraska (South Mountain CC)
Meyer joined the Husker men’s golf program in June of 2019 after an NJCAA All-America sophomore season at South Mountain Community College in Arizona.

He finished with a four-round total of three-over-par 291 at Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Ind., May 21-25. Meyer was also the NJCAA DII District A individual runner-up with his four-over-par 284 on the Sidewinder Course in Gold Canyon, Ariz., April 25-28, as South Mountain CC won the regional title to earn a bid to nationals by sweeping the top four individual spots at the regional.
Meyer was one of three South Mountain CC golfers to earn first-team NJCAA DII All-America honors in 2019. He was one of six finalists for the 2019 NJCAA Jack Nicklaus National Player-of-the-Year Award. Meyer captured three individual tournament titles in 2018-19, while producing a total of nine top-five tournament finishes in 12 events for the Cougars on the year. He was also a second-team 2019 NJCAA Ping Division II All-American, after earning NJCAA Ping DII West Region honors.
Meyer claimed honorable-mention NJCAA All-America honors as a freshman when he helped South Mountain CC to a fourth-place national finish.
He helped Campo Verde High School to an Arizona Division II state title while finishing third individually as a junior in the fall of 2015.
Meyer was a two-time first-team All-Arizona selection at Campo Verde and a two-time first-team All-East Valley pick. Meyer finished seventh individually at the Arizona Division I state championship as a senior in 2016.
