Jorgenson Leads Four Academic All-District Huskers

Lincoln - Three-time first-team All-American and 2026 Big Ten Champion Gena Jorgenson headlines a group of three Husker swimmers and one diver named to the Academic All-District team named by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday, April 7.

Jorgenson, who took fourth in the 1,650 free in a school-record 15:42.94 at the 2026 NCAA Championships, is hunting for first-team CSC Academic All-America honors this season after claiming third-team accolades in 2025. She is a three-time CSC Academic All-District pick.

A four-time NCAA All-American in the pool, Jorgenson took sixth in the 1,650 in 2025, after finishing eighth in 2024. She also claimed second-team All-America honors in the 500 freestyle in 2026. She owns 11 Nebraska school records. 

In the classroom, Jorgenson is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice and a two-time Big Ten Distinguished scholar as a biological sciences major.

Beatrix Tanko joins Jorgenson on the national ballot for CSC members to vote on this week. The junior from Hungary finished 32nd in the 100 butterfly at the 2026 NCAA Championships, while also competing in the 50 and 100 freestyles for the Huskers at nationals.

The 2025 Hungarian National Champion in the 50-meter fly, she added silver medals in the 100 fly and 50 free at the Hungarian Championships last summer before medaling at the World University Games.

A two-time CSC Academic All-District pick, Tanko is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten choice who was also a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar in 2025. She is double major in finance and computer science.

Diver Kelsey Clairmont puts three Huskers on the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America honors. The senior from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada was a three-time NCAA qualifier on the platform in 2023, 2024 and 2026. Clairmont, who competed on the one-meter, three-meter and platform dives at the NCAA Zone Championships in 2026, finished 27th on platform at the 2026 NCAA Championships. She is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice and a 2025 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. The graphic design major was also an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar in 2025.

Junior Amelia Riggott rounded out the collection of four Husker Academic All-District selections for 2026. The sports media and communications major from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom, was one of Nebraska's top breaststroke specialists. She was also an Academic All-District choice in 2025. The two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection was a Big Ten Distinguished scholar a year ago.
