Nebraska men's tennis is set to host the ITA Regional Championships for the first time in program history at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln.
The tournament will run from Wednesday, Oct. 7 to Sunday, Oct. 11. Action gets underway at 8 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. on Friday through Sunday. Nebraska, along with 10 other teams, will compete for the chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Orlando, Fla.
The tournament will be held on the outdoor courts of the tennis center, weather permitting, and is free to attend with concessions open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Outside food and drink will be permitted at that time.
Each of the 2026 ITA Men’s Regional Championships will have a draw size of the following: (Singles: 64 Main Draw, 64 Qualifying) (Doubles: 64 Main Draw). Singles play will start on Wednesday and doubles play will begin on Thursday.
The Huskers are coming off an impressive performance at the UTR Pro Tennis Tournament in Lincoln, winning 20 total matches and winning two out of four playoff stages.
Junior Aniss Rafiq took home the title in the tournament with a win over fellow teammate Henry Lamchinniah. Junior Jan Sebesta was the other Husker to win his playoff,earning fifth place in the torunament with a three set win in his final.
