Nebraska men's tennis will stay in Lincoln for the UTR Pro Tennis Tour Tournament. The tournament will run from Monday, Sept. 28 - Friday, Oct. 2 at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
The tournament layout will feature a 16 person main draw that will consist of four groups of four players each. The round-robin group stages will run from Monday to Tuesday. Players will play two matches on one of the days.
The Playoff Stage will be two rounds and consist of four draws of four players depending on the player’s group finishing (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) and will run from Wednesday to Thursday.
Players who win their semifinal match will advance to play in the final of their playoff bracket. Players who lose in their semifinal match will play a final match to determine 3rd and 4th place in their playoff bracket.
Eight Huskers will be set to compete in the tournament. Junior transfer Aniss Rafiq will feature in his first tournament in Lincoln after an impressive Husker debut at the ITA All-American Championships, going 4-1 and making it to the round of 32 in the east qualifying draw. Juniors Henry Lamchinniah and Jan Sebesta both went 1-1 in the tournament finding bounce back wins in their consolation rounds.
