Home Dates Set for Husker Women's Hoops

The Nebraska women’s basketball team learned its dates for its 18-game conference home schedule, when the Big Ten announced the competition dates for the men’s and women’s basketball seasons on the Big Ten Network Wednesday afternoon.

The Huskers, who will take aim at their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, will face a loaded conference schedule from start to finish in a Big Ten that sent 12 teams to the 2026 NCAA Tournament. All 12 of those teams, including the Huskers, won at least one game in March Madness a year ago.

Season tickets are available now at Huskers.com, and four-game mini-plans go on-sale Tuesday, Sept. 22. Single-game ticket sales begin on Friday, Oct. 2 in conjunction with Nebraska’s Opening Night presented by Scheels.

The Huskers have ranked among the top 25 teams nationally in home attendance for 16 consecutive seasons, including a No. 15 ranking a year ago with more than 5,700 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Nebraska, which has earned NCAA Tournament bids in four of the last five seasons under Head Coach Amy Williams, will open its conference schedule on the road at Iowa on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The Huskers will complete their non-conference schedule with three games leading up to the holiday break, before opening Big Ten home action against NCAA Tournament qualifier Washington on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Last season, the Huskies advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but first-team All-Big Ten guard Britt Prince’s game-winning three-pointer in the final five seconds in Seattle sent the Huskers to a 66-65 win and secured Nebraska’s third straight NCAA Tournament berth.

Prince, a junior out of Elkhorn North High School, returns to lead the Huskers this season in a nine-game conference home slate that begins with seven consecutive Big Ten home games against teams that advanced to at least the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Following Nebraska’s Big Ten home opener with Washington, the Huskers travel to Los Angeles to face defending national champion UCLA (Jan. 2) and USC (Jan. 5). The Trojans will feature the return of national player-of-the-year candidate JuJu Watkins, who missed all of the 2025-26 season with a leg injury. USC also advanced to the NCAA Tournament second round a year ago.

After playing three of its first four Big Ten games on the road, the Huskers will open a three-game Big Ten home stand with Michigan State on Sunday, Jan. 10, before facing 2026 NCAA Elite Eight participant Michigan on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at PBA. The Big Red wraps up the home stand with Ohio State on Sunday, Jan. 17.

After opening the conference schedule with seven consecutive games against teams that advanced to the NCAA second round, the Huskers will head to Evanston, Ill., to face Northwestern (Jan. 20) and first-year Wildcat Coach Carla Berube, who led Princeton to five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2021-22 to 2025-26 before replacing the retired Joe McKeown at Northwestern.

The Huskers will complete a road swing against the Illinois schools when they face the Fighting Illini in Champaign (Jan. 26). Illinois also advanced to the NCAA second round a year ago.

Nebraska returns home to battle more NCAA Tournament qualifiers by opening a two-game stand with Oregon on Sunday, Jan. 31, before completing its two-game season series with Iowa on Thursday, Feb. 4 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game against the Hawkeyes caps a stretch of 10 of Nebraska’s first 11 games against NCAA Tournament teams to open Big Ten Conference play.

The Huskers hit the road for a quick trip to West Lafayette, Ind., to battle Purdue (Feb. 7), before returning to PBA to meet 2026 NCAA Sweet Sixteen participant Minnesota on Thursday, Feb. 11.

The Big Red returns to the road for a Valentine’s Day clash at Maryland (Feb. 14), before closing Big Ten home action with back-to-back games against Wisconsin (Feb. 17) and Penn State (Feb. 21). The Badgers advanced to the postseason a year ago, while the Nittany Lions will be the only conference team to come to Lincoln without a 2026 postseason berth. Penn State will feature first-year head coach Tanisha Wright.

The Huskers will close conference play with back-to-back road games at Rutgers (Feb. 24) and Indiana (Feb. 27), before heading to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament (March 3-7).

Times and television designations for the 2026-27 season will be announced by the conference in the coming weeks, as the teams gear up for Big Ten Women's Basketball Media Day in Rosemont, Ill., Wednesday, Oct. 7.
