Huskers in NBA Summer League Recap

A quartet of former Huskers finished up 2026 NBA Summer League on Saturday in Las Vegas. Rienk Mast (Indiana Pacers) and Sam Hoiberg (Phoenix Suns) made their professional debuts during the event, while Josiah Allick (Charlotte Hornets) and Brice Williams (Detroit Pistons) were also in action after playing in the NBA G League last season.

Mast was impressive in his professional debut, averaging 15.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in four contests for the Pacers. He shot 48 percent from the floor and totaled a pair of double-doubles, highlighted by a 23-point, 10-rebound effort off the bench against Toronto and a 16-point, 11-rebound performance against Cleveland. His 9.0 rebounds per game tied for sixth among all players in Las Vegas.

Hoiberg played in all five games for Phoenix, helping the Suns to a 3-2 record. He averaged 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals per game while averaging 11.1 minutes off the bench.

Williams saw action in all five games for the Pistons, averaging 14.8 points per game on 46 percent shooting, including 39 percent from 3-point range. Williams also averaged 5.0 rebounds and nearly two assists per game. He had 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting against Phoenix and had 21 points, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, in a win over Cleveland.

Allick played two games for the Charlotte Hornets in Las Vegas, grabbed a pair of rebounds in limited action.
