Ten Huskers Earn Academic All-District Honors

Ten Nebraska track and field student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams on June 23. 

The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field and in the classroom.

For the Husker men, Aleksandr Gerasimov, Hannes Fahl, Seth Schnakenberg, Gabe Nash and Kael Miedema were all named to the Academic All-District Team.

For the Husker women, Axelina Johansson, Jana Lowka, Ela Velepec, Kelsie Belquist and Berlyn Schutz were all named to the Academic All-District Team.

Four of the 10 Huskers advanced to the national ballot and will be considered for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced July 15 for the women. They include: Johansson, Lowka, Velepec and Belquist. 

Johansson was a first-team Academic All-American in 2025, and aims to be a four-time Academic All-American after becoming the first woman in Nebraska track and field history to achieve the award three times.
