Jordy Frahm threw a one-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts and the No. 1 Nebraska softball team defeated the Grand Canyon Lopes, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bowlin Stadium.
With the win, the Huskers extended their win streak to 23, which ties the school record for consecutive wins. Nebraska now sits at 48-6 on the season, while GCU fell to 53-9.
Hannah Coor posted two hits and an RBI for the Big Red offense, while Jordy Frahm and Bella Bacon each added a hit.
Frahm (19-4) earned the win in the circle after tossing 16 strikeouts, which tied her career high. She allowed only one hit and no runs, along with no walks.
Nebraska finally broke through in the fifth, when Frahm reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on a Coor triple. Coor went home on a GCU error to give NU a 2-0 lead.
The Huskers will play in the regional final game tomorrow, May 17, at 2 p.m. (CT).
