The Big Ten announced that Sam Rakita and Wyatt Reynolds were named to the 2026 Big Ten men’s gymnastics All-Freshman Team. The honor recognizes their performances at the Big Ten Championships on April 3-4. Nebraska was the only team with two gymnasts recognized.
Rakita recorded a 13.05 on rings during Friday’s team competition to qualify for Saturday’s individual event finals. On Saturday, he notched a 13.50 to place fourth. Rakita has competed in seven meets for Nebraska this season.
Reynolds has been a staple for the Huskers on pommel horse all season. He scored a 13.25 in Friday’s qualifying round to advance to the finals. On Saturday, he posted a career-high 13.70 to finish sixth. Reynolds has competed in every meet for the Huskers this season.
As a team, Nebraska returns to action at the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships on April 17-18 in Champaign, Illinois. The qualifying round begins at 1 p.m. on April 17 at the State Farm Center. The final round is set for 6 p.m. on April 18. Friday’s competition will stream on ESPN+, and Saturday’s meet will air on ESPN2.
