Lincoln native Berlyn Schutz ran a blistering 4:08.88 in the elite division of the women’s 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational, claiming fifth and improving upon her school record that she set last season.
Schutz has stamped her name throughout the school record books this year as she currently holds seven records, the most of any athlete at Nebraska.
Gabe Nash and Kaleb Sharp both competed in the B division of the men’s 1500m. Nash ran a personal best, 3:46.37, earning the event title. Sharp followed closely with his own PR, running 3:46.60, earning a second-place finish.
Jaylee Wingate ran a lifetime best, 4:31.75 in the B division of the women’s 1500m, finishing in 24th. Freshman Sydney Drevlow competed in her first collegiate 1500m race also in the women’s B division, running 4:38.18.
