The Nebraska track and field program claimed three weekly Big Ten awards on Wednesday.
Keyshawn Strachan was Men's Co-Field Athlete of the Week, while Karsyn Leeling was Women's Field Athlete of the Week and Kelsie Belquist was Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Strachan was the javelin champion at the Spec Towns Invitational in Georgia with a throw of 257-6 (78.48m). His mark ranks second in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten.
Leeling won the high jump title at the Spec Towns Invitational with a career performance. She cleared 6-2 1/4 (1.89m), a personal best that leads the NCAA and the Big Ten this outdoor season. Leeling's mark is tied for third in school history.
Belquist had a strong weekend at the Spec Towns Invitational, running two personal bests that rank among the top times in Nebraska school history. She finished second in the 400m hurdles (55.96) and fourth in the 400m (52.41). Belquist's 400m hurdles time ranks first in the Big Ten and is tied for second in school history. Her 400m time is third in the Big Ten and ninth in school history.
