Huskers Take Fourth in First Session of Big Ten Championships

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team took fourth out of four teams at Session I of the Big Ten Championships on Friday, March 20 in Champaign, Ill., with a score of 195.075.

The Huskers moved to 7-11 on the season (4-8 Big Ten). Isabel Sikon placed third in the session on the all-around with a 38.025.

Rutgers took first in the session with a 195.700, Washington took second with a 195.475, Illinois took third with a 195.125 and NU took fourth.

Rotation One
The Huskers opened the night on beam, notching a 48.750. Karys Griffin led the way with a career-high 9.825, followed by Olivia Burns (9.775) and Allie Gard (9.750). Whitney Jencks (9.725) and Sikon (9.675) rounded out the rotation.

Rotation Two
Nebraska continued the night with a 48.750 on floor. Jencks (9.825) led the way for the Big Red. Homecillo and Nya Kraus both earned 9.800s to continue the rotation. Tegan Shaver (9.725) and Allie Gard (9.600) completed the lineup.

Rotation Three
The Huskers moved to vault, where they scored a 48.650 as a team. Shaver led the way with a 9.775. Peyton Pech (9.750), Molly Peterson (9.725) and Sikon (9.725) followed Shaver. Reese Baechle (9.675) completed the rotation.

Rotation Four
NU concluded the contest on bars, posting a 48.925. Sikon led the way with a 9.825. Peterson and Kraus followed with both notching a 9.800. Griffin (9.775), Burns (9.725) and Shaver (9.725) concluded the competition.

The Huskers will await their fate for the 2026 NCAA Championships, with the Selection Show airing Monday, March 23 at 11 a.m. (CT) here. The regional round will take place from April 1-5 at one of four locations around the country. The championship round is April 16-18 in Fort Worth, Texas.
