NCAA Announces 2026 Championship Brackets

Six Huskers are seeded 10th or better for the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships as the NCAA released the brackets Wednesday evening. This year’s tournament is set for March 19-21 in Cleveland, Ohio, at Rocket Arena. 

Antrell Taylor leads the group as the No. 2 seed at 157 pounds following his impressive junior season. The Omaha, Neb., native is 22-3 and is coming off a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships. Taylor, a two-time All-American and the 2025 NCAA champion at 157 pounds, will make his third career NCAA Championships appearance and open against No. 31 Garrett McChesney (EDIN). 

Brock Hardy (141) and Christopher Minto (174) each received the No. 3 seed following the pair’s runner-up finishes at last weekend’s Big Ten Championships. Minto will make his second NCAA appearance and face No. 30 Riley Davis (WYO), while Hardy enters his fourth straight tournament and will meet Maryland’s No. 30 Dario Lemus in the opening round. 

At heavyweight, AJ Ferrari earned the No. 4 seed for his third NCAA tournament appearance and will face No. 29 Luke Rasmussen (SDSU) in the opening round. LJ Araujo (165) and Silas Allred (184) round out the top-10 seeded Huskers, as the No. 6 and No. 8 seeds, respectively. Araujo will meet Stanford’s No. 27 EJ Parco in his NCAA tournament debut, while Allred, a 2025 All-American making his fourth consecutive appearance, is slated to face George Mason’s No. 25 Malachi DuVall. 

At 197, Camden McDanel is seeded No. 11 following his runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships. He will open his second NCAA Championships appearance against No. 22 Devin Wasley (NDSU). Junior Jacob Van Dee earned his third straight NCAA bid and enters as the  No. 13 seed, where he will face No. 20 Julian Farber of Northern Iowa. 

Chance Lamer will make his fourth NCAA Championships appearance as the No. 20 seed and will meet Wisconsin’s No. 13 Joseph Zargo in the opening round. At 125, Kael Lauridsen enters his first NCAA tournament as the No. 25 seed and will face Iowa’s No. 8 Dean Peterson. 

The 2025-26 NCAA Championships will be held March 19-21 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Session I is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (CT) on Thursday.
