Huskers Take Third at Big Fours

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team scored a 195.200 to take third in the Big Fours meet on Saturday at Rec Hall in University Park, Pa.

The Huskers moved to 5-7 on the season (3-6 Big Ten). Whitney Jencks earned the all-around title with a 38.650. Isabel Sikon took second in the all-around with a 38.500.

No. 9 Michigan took first with a 197.475, followed by No. 20 Penn State with a 197.225. NU grabbed third with a 195.200 and Washington took fourth with a 194.425.

Rotation One
The Huskers kicked off the evening on beam, notching a 48.800. Olivia Burns tied a career-high 9.875 to lead the way. Allie Gard (9.825), Lauren Homecillo (9.750) and Nya Kraus (9.725) followed for NU. Sikon (9.625) rounded out the lineup.

Rotation Two
Behind a 9.925 from Homecillo, tying her career high, Nebraska earned a 49.200 on floor. Jencks (9.850) followed up for NU. Sikon (9.825), Kraus (9.825) and Gard (9.775) finished out the rotation.

Rotation Three
Nebraska continued the night with a 48.800 on vault. Sikon, Molly Peterson and Tegan Shaver all notched 9.800s to boost the team. Jencks (9.775) and Griffin (9.625) finished out the lineup.

Rotation Four
NU concluded the contest on bars, posting a 48.400. Jencks and Peterson both grabbed a 9.800 to lead the Huskers. Burns and Shaver both followed with a 9.750. Kraus (9.300) concluded the competition.

Up Next
The Huskers will travel to Denton, Texas on Friday, March 6 to take on Texas Woman’s University. The meet is slated to begin at 7 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on FloCollege.
