Huskers Finish Big Ten Competition At Illinois, Indiana

After a 47-0 shutout on Senior Day, the program’s largest margin of victory since 2021, the No. 5 Nebraska wrestling team (10-6, 3-3 Big Ten) closes conference competition with a double-dual weekend. The Huskers travel to face No. 11 Illinois (11-4, 4-2 Big Ten) on Friday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. (CT) before heading to Bloomington to take on No. 20 Indiana (8-4, 3-3 Big Ten) on Sunday, Feb. 15., at 11 a.m. (CT).  

Friday’s dual will be streamed on B1G+, while Sunday’s matchup will be televised on Big Ten Network. Nebraska brings eight top-10 wrestlers into the weekend, with Friday’s dual featuring up to seven ranked bouts and Sunday’s dual including five. 

The weekend could feature three rematches, all against Indiana. At 125, Alan Koehler is a potential matchup against No. 17 Jacob Moran. The pair met in November 2024, where Moran earned a decision. At 141, No. 4 Brock Hardy holds a 2-0 record over No. 25 Henry Porter, winning by tech. fall and major decision. At 197, No. 9 Camden McDanel has faced No. 22 Gabe Sollars four times, most recently at the 2025 Big Ten and NCAA Championships. McDanel is 4-0 in the series, with two major decisions and two decisions.

  • No. 4 Christopher Minto and No. 6 Silas Allred are up in rankings after securing the Huskers’ two big upsets against Ohio State, defeating No. 4 Carson Kharchla and No. 5 Dylan Fishback. 
  • At 157, No. 3 Antrell Taylor surged into the top-three after defeating No. 3 PJ Duke at Penn State. Taylor has won 11 straight matches and holds a 13-2 dual record, leading the team with 56 dual points and seven bonus-point victories. 
  • After three consecutive losses against top-10 opponents, No. 9 Jacob Van Dee returned to the win column with a tech. fall victory over Luis Bazan of Northwestern. Van Dee could see a major test Friday against Illinois’ No. 1 Lucas Byrd (14-0). 
  • At 141, Brock Hardy recorded his 100th career win against Iowa on Jan. 23 and now sits at 102 career victories, including 43 in dual competition. Hardy also earned his 25th career pin against No. 12 Braeden Davis of Penn State. He leads NU with eight bonus-point wins and claims 53 dual points this season. 
  • Christopher Minto enters the weekend with 39 career wins, seeking his 40th, while Silas Allred has garnered 91 career victories and 41 dual wins, all as Huskers. 
  • Three Huskers have surpassed 30 takedowns this season: Minto (33), McDanel (32) and Hardy (30).

The Huskers remain on the road to face Utah Valley in the Big Red’s final regular-season dual. The matchup is set for 8 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on FloWrestling, with live stats available on Trackwrestling.
