Glow Big Red a Shining Success

Husker Nation shattered the previous Glow Big Red record, raising $3,667,815 during the annual 24-hour event to support the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

In the 24-hour period ending at Noon on Thursday, 8,080 gifts were made to support priorities and causes across the university. The number of gifts and the amount raised both set records, exceeding the 2025 giving day totals of 7,241 gifts and $1,022,896.

Those making donations during Glow Big Red included UNL supporters from every state. Nebraska Athletics led the way with the most money raised, with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, College of Business, College of Arts and Sciences and the Nebraska College of Law rounding out the top five.

Generous donors helped Nebraska Athletics raise $2,594,036 during Glow Big Red, with the money raised coming from 1,863 individual donors and 2,194 gifts.

Nebraska athletic teams once again competed in the Huskers Team Challenge, rewarding the teams with the most donors. The men’s tennis team led the way with 238 donors, followed by women’s gymnastics (217 donors) and men’s golf (139 donors).

Glow Big Red began in 2019 in recognition of the university’s 150th anniversary. Across the university, there were more than 200 causes to support.
