Huskers Post Season High Score, Fall to Buckeyes

Despite posting its best team score of the season, the Nebraska women’s gymnastics team fell to No. 19 Ohio State 196.625-196.025 on Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Huskers fell to 3-3, (1-2 Big Ten) on the season, while Ohio State moved to 3-1 (3-0 Big Ten).

Whitney Jencks captured the all-around title with a season-high 39.325, while also grabbing the bars title with a season-high 9.900. Isabel Sikon took third in the all-around with a career-high 39.100.

Rotation One
The Huskers kicked off the evening on vault, notching a 48.925. Tegan Shaver led the way with a career-high 9.825. Molly Peterson (9.800) and Isabel Sikon (9.800) followed for NU. Whitney Jencks and Reese Baechle both earned a 9.750 to round out the rotation.

Rotation Two
Behind a season-high 9.900 from Jencks and a 9.875 from Peterson, the Huskers scored a 48.950 on bars. A career-high 9.750 for Griffin, Olivia Burns (9.725) and Sikon (9.700) finished out the lineup.

Rotation Three
Nebraska continued the night with a 49.075 on beam. Jencks, Sikon, Burns and Allie Gard all secured a 9.825 to boost the Big Red. Lauren Homecillo (9.775) rounded out the lineup. That marked a career high for Burns and season marks for both Jencks and Gard.

Rotation Four
NU concluded the contest on floor, posting a season-high 49.075 team score. Jencks led the way with a season-high 9.850. Nya Kraus and Homecillo both earned a 9.825 for the Huskers. Baechle (9.800) and Sikon (9.775) concluded the competition.
