The Nebraska women’s tennis team will continue its spring season with a weekend full of duals, both away and at home.
The Huskers will travel to Lawrence, Kan., for their first away match of the season on Friday, Jan. 30, to take on the Kansas Jayhawks at 5 p.m. (CT). The Big Red will then head back home for a pair of matches against North Dakota and Kansas City at the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center on Sunday, Feb. 1. NU will face off against UND at 1 p.m. (CT) and UMKC at 5 p.m. (CT).
Nebraska goes into the weekend with a 3-0 record with wins coming against James Madison and Omaha on Jan. 16 and Jan. 18. The Huskers have dropped just four matches so far this season, with two coming in doubles and two in singles.
Parking and attendance are free for fans at Sunday’s doubleheader, and the matches will be streamed live on Playsight. Concessions will also be available for both home matches on Sunday.
Kansas (3-0, 0-0 Big 12)
History: The Big Red are 15-26 all time against the Jayhawks. In their last matchup, Kansas defeated NU 4-3 in Lincoln. Kansas has one ranked singles player, No. 21 Kyoka Kubo. The Jayhawks have notched wins against Kansas City and Creighton.
North Dakota (2-2, 0-0 Summit League)
History: NU leads the all-time series 6-0. In their last matchup, the Huskers took down the Fighting Hawks, 7-0. North Dakota has defeated Marquette and Drake, and taken losses at the hands of Montana State and Minnesota.
Kansas City (0-1, 0-0 Summit League)
History: The Huskers are 5-0 all-time against Kansas City. NU most recently downed the Roos, 5-0 in Lincoln. Kansas City’s lone dual of the season so far is a loss against Kansas.
