Huskers Win Five Titles at Prairie Wolf Invitational

Sage Burbach (18.35m, 60-2 ½) and Lauren St. Peters (18.13m, 59-5 ¾) both set big PRs en route to taking first and second in the women’s weight throw. On the men’s side, Brett Schwartz won the event title, with a mark of 19.89m (65-3 ¼).

Grace Parsons led off the meet clearing a personal best 1.60m (5-3) to win the high jump event title. 

Nebraska’s Brayden Bergkamp claimed fourth in the men’s long jump competition with a mark of 6.49m (21-3 ½). Fellow multi athlete, Luke Noland earned a ninth-place finish in the men’s pole vault, clearing 3.90m (12-9 ½).

Barrett Wilke earned his first win of his collegiate career in the men’s shot put, throwing 16.84m (55-3). On the women’s side, Kellyn Kortemeyer took the event title with a mark of 14.98m (49-1 ¾). Donna Douglas finished in second with a mark of 13.77m (45-2 ¼) and Grace Parsons (11.04m, 36-2 ¾) took 10th. 

The Huskers will host the Mark Colligan Memorial tomorrow, Jan. 24th, with events starting at 10:45 a.m.
