Huskers Fall to No. 9 Bruins in Conference Dual

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team fell to the No. 9 Bruins, 197.325-195.250, on Saturday afternoon at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, Calif.

The Huskers fell to (2-2) on the season (0-1 Big Ten), while UCLA improved to (5-2) (1-0 Big Ten).

Isabel Sikon placed fourth in the all-around with a 39.000 and Whitney Jencks took fifth with a 38.950. As a team, the Huskers took home two career highs.

Rotation One
The Huskers kicked off the evening on bars, notching a 49.050 as a team. Molly Peterson led the way with a 9.875, followed by Jencks (9.850). Isabel Sikon tied her career best with a 9.800. Nya Kraus (9.775) and Olivia Burns (9.750) rounded out the rotation.

 Rotation Two
Nebraska continued the night with a 48.675 on vault. Reese Baechle notched a 9.800 for the Big Red, followed by Tegan Shaver (9.750), Peyton Pech (9.750) and Sikon (9.700). Karys Griffin earned a 9.675 to finish the lineup.

Rotation Three
Behind a 9.850 from Lauren Homecillo, NU notched a 48.625 on floor. Sikon followed for NU with a 9.750. Jencks (9.700), Allie Gard (9.700) and Kraus (9.650) rounded out the event.

Rotation Four
NU concluded the contest on beam, posting a 48.900. Homecillo secured a career-high 9.825 to lead the lineup. Kraus (9.825) and Sikon (9.775) followed for the Husker. Gard (9.750) and Jencks (9.725) concluded the competition.
