Frager Earns Big Ten Honor

Written byShamus McKnight

Nebraska’s Braden Frager was honored for the second time this season on Monday, as he was chosen as Big Ten Freshman of the Week.

The Lincoln Southwest product tallied 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field while going 7-of-8 from the foul line and adding four rebounds in Nebraska’s 78-55 win over North Dakota on Sunday. The win extended Nebraska’s record to 12-0, as Nebraska is one of six unbeaten teams in Division I.

It marked Frager’s eighth double-figure effort of the season, including seventh off the bench. On the season, Frager is averaging 11.3 points per game on 52 percent shooting along with 4.1 rebounds per game.

Frager becomes the third Husker freshman to earn multiple weekly honors in the Big Ten era, joining Shavon Shields (2012-13) and Bryce McGowens (2021-22).

The Huskers, who climbed to 13th in both the AP and Coaches polls, will close non-conference action against New Hampshire on Dec. 30. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. and a limited number of 300 Level tickets are available by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets.
