Nebraska men's tennis head coach Peter Kobelt announced on Tuesday that Lubbock Christian University transfer Kelly Giese will join the Huskers for the 2026-27 season.
"We are really excited to have Kelly join us next fall," Kobelt said. "We believe he embodies everything it means to be a Husker student-athlete. We expect him to make a huge impact on the court, in the classroom and in the community."
The redshirt junior from Manhattan Beach, California comes to the Big Red with many national honors including ITA national rankings as No. 10 in singles and No. 28 in doubles. His highest doubles ranking so far in his career came in his freshman season as No. 22 nationally.
In his 2024-25 season as a redshirt sophomore, Giese posted a 24-9 singles record and 19-7 doubles record. Giese also earned ITA Most Improved Player in the South Central Region along with being named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year. Off the court he was an ITA Division II Scholar Athlete.
