Former Husker Luteran Finishes Second at World Para Championships

Former Nebraska track and field athlete Petra Luteran finished second place in the long jump at the World Para Athletics Championships on Oct. 4. 

Luteran, a native of Szarliget, Hungary, posted a jump of 19-7 1/2 (5.98m) to earn the silver medal. She was also the silver medalist at the 2024 Paralympic Games in the long jump and fourth place in the 400m. 

Luteran competed for the Huskers from 2017-21. She was an All-American and a Big Ten silver medalist in the high jump. Luteran lost the lower portion of her left arm following a car wreck in 2022.
