Nebraska soccer defender Lauryn Anglim earned Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday.
Anglim led the Husker backfield to shutouts against Purdue on Thursday and Maryland on Sunday. The Boilermakers only took five shots total and had none on goal, while the Terps had six shots with one on goal.
Anglim, a native of La Vista, Neb., also logged the game-winning goal against UMD with a penalty-kick score in the 39th minute.
The senior is the first Husker to earn Big Ten weekly honors since Sarah Weber was named Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 20, 2024. She is the first Defensive Player of the Week since Sinclaire Miramontez on Aug. 28, 2018.
The Big Red will continue conference competition at USC on Thursday, Oct. 16. The match is set to start at 9 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed on B1G+.
