The Nebraska bowling team begins the 2025-26 season as No. 2 team in the nation in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) 2025-26 preseason poll released Wednesday.

The Huskers received a total of 1,702 total points and seven first-place votes, just behind No. 1 Jacksonville State who received 1,777 total points and 14 first place votes.

NU is ranked ahead of No. 3 Vanderbilt (1,680 total points and seven first place votes) and defending national champion No. 4 Youngstown State (1,633 total points and 16 first place votes).

The Big Red returns nine bowlers from last season, including reigning NTCA Player of the Year and 2025 First-Team All-American Jillian Martin and 2025 Second-Team All-American Kayla Starr.

After finishing third at the 2025 NCAA Championship, the Huskers continue their quest for their first national title since 2021 in their first year competing in Conference USA. NU will begin play on Oct. 17, traveling to Struthers, Ohio for the Motiv Penguin Classic hosted by defending NCAA Champion Youngstown State.
