Lincoln - Former Husker captain Jordan Ehly returns to the Nebraska swimming and diving team as the Director of Operations, Head Coach Pablo Morales announced on Thursday, Sept. 18.
"As a student-athlete, Jordan had a great impact on our program. She was outstanding in all areas and an excellent leader," Morales said. "As the director of operations, she brings tremendous logistics and operational experience to the job. She also has tremendous familiarity with our program, and the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of our Husker swimmers and divers."
A Husker swimmer who specialized in the breaststroke and individual medley events from 2014 to 2018, Ehly posted several notable times and amassed 25 top-five finishes, including eight victories in individual events and relays. Her 2:11.17 in the 200 breaststroke standings among the top five times in school history.
Ehly added a top-10 time in school history in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.62) at USA Winter Nationals in 2017 by notching a 1:01.62. Ehly took 16th in the 200 breast at the 2015 Big Ten Championships, before adding a 20th-place finish in the event at the 2016 Big Ten meet. In 2017, Ehly recorded a 19th-place finish and further improved to a 17th-place finish at the 2018 conference championship with a time of 2:12.37.
Alongside five other Husker swimmers, Ehly competed in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha in the 200-meter breaststroke.
Outside of the pool, Ehly was a model student and citizen. A four-time letter winner, Ehly was an eight-time member of the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was awarded the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award in 2016 and was an Academic All-Big Ten in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Helping lead her team to be three-time recipients of the Herman Team GPA Award, Ehly was awarded the Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award in 2017. Contributing to the Lincoln community, she was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team from 2015 to 2018.
Ehly graduated in December 2018 with her bachelor’s degree as an advertising and public relations major.
