Jorgenson Swims to Nebraska Record in 200M Back

Gena Jorgenson raced to her second school record in as many days, posting a time of 2:12.79 in Wednesday's preliminary heats of the 200-meter backstroke at the Toyota USA Championships in Indianapolis.

Jorgenson, a two-time first-team All-American at Nebraska, closed her second day at the USA Championships with a 21st-place finish in a time of 2:13.20.

On Tuesday, the Aberdeen, S.D., native cruised to a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle in a school-record 8:33.79.

Jorgenson will enjoy the day off from competition at the Toyota USA Championships on Thursday, before returning to the pool for the 400-meter freestyle on Friday, June 6. She will conclude her stay at nationals with her strongest event - the 1,500 freestyle - on Saturday, June 7.
