Following senior Sarah Weber’s second hat trick of the season, the Nebraska soccer team (2-2-0) looks to continue its momentum as the Huskers hit the road to meet Oregon State and Portland this week. The Huskers and Beavers (1-2-0) square off Thursday at 9 p.m. (CT) at Paul Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore., before taking on Portland (2-2-1) on Sunday at 3 p.m. (CT) in Portland, Ore., at Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.

Numbers to Watch
- Sarah Weber, a 2024 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, recorded her second career hat trick on Sunday against Creighton. It’s the 36th hat trick in school history and second of the 2024 season for Weber.
- Weber is also fifth in school history with 270 total shots, sitting just behind Jordan Jackson (271) in fourth. Additionally, Weber is currently tied for third in the nation with six goals to open 2024 and sits in first with 6.25 goals per game.
- Florence Belzile is currently ninth all-time in Husker history with 25 career assists, just two shy of Lindsay Eddleman in eighth. Jordan Zade, the team’s assists leader, has four on the season and is 11th nationally. Belzile, with three dishes in two games, is tied for 34th in the country.

- The Huskers have 10 regular-season home games scheduled for their 10th season at Hibner Stadium in 2024.
- NU returns three of four All-Big Ten performers from last season, seniors Weber, Haley Peterson and Zade. Nebraska’s all-time all-conference total increased to 110, including 38 honorees since joining the Big Ten in 2011.
- During the 2023 season, the Huskers averaged 1,326 fans per game at Hibner Stadium, third most in Husker history and 15th in the nation. To start the 2024 season, NU has averaged 6,417 fans, good for sixth in the country. Sunday’s match against Creighton garnered 2,382 fans, second-most all-time at Hibner Stadium.
Scouting Oregon State
- Oregon State finished the 2023 season with a 4-8-7 record overall and 1-6-4 mark in conference play. The Beavers closed their season with a 2-0 victory over Oregon but didn’t qualify for the conference tournament.
- The Beavers have opened the 2024 season with a pair of losses to Montana and Yale, but topped Idaho State, 1-0.
- Interim Head Coach Caroline Kelly enters her first season at the helm of the program. Kelly started her career at OSU in 2021 and played a career role in developing the goalkeepers and back line.
- Nebraska leads the all-time series 2-0 between the two teams. The Huskers topped OSU in Oregon in 2016 and at home in 2018, 3-0.
Scouting Portland
- Portland finished the 2024 season with a 10-4-3 mark overall and 4-3-1 finish in WCC play. The Pilots dropped their senior day matchup to Santa Clara to close the regular season.
- Portland opened the 2024 season with a pair of wins over Stonehill (7-0) and Hawaii (1-0) and dropped games to Cal Poly, Baylor and USC. The Pilots will face Sacramento State on Thursday, Sept. 5 before meeting the Huskers on Sunday.
- Head Coach Michelle French is in her seventh season as the head coach of Portland. French holds a 53-38-16 overall record with the Pilots.
- Portland leads the overall series 1-8-1 against the Huskers. In the last meeting between the teams, the Pilots topped Nebraska 2-0 in Lincoln.
