Lieutenant Colonel Retired Dale Storr

A Lincoln, Nebraska, native, Lieutenant Colonel Retired Dale Storr, served as the POW/MIA Chair Sentinel for the Nebraska Football game vs. Illinois on Sept. 20, 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Storr joined the Air Force directly after graduating from Washington State University. In August 1990, his unit deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Shield.

On February 2nd, 1991, his aircraft was hit by enemy ground fire, and he was forced to eject over enemy forces. He spent the next 33 days as a Prisoner of War. On March 6th, he was released to the Red Cross and returned to U.S. Forces in Saudi Arabia. Colonel Storr retired from the Air Force 18 years later and is currently a pilot with United Airlines out of San Francisco.
