Nine Huskers Named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

Nine Nebraska women’s gymnasts garnered Big Ten Distinguished Scholar distinction, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Katelyn Barth, Martina Comin, Kinsey Davis, Emalee Frost, Allie Gard, Genesis Gibson, Lauren Homecillo, Emma Spence and Annie Worley were the honorees.

Barth, Frost, Gard, Gibson, Homecillo and Worley all earned the award for the first time, while Spence grabbed her second honor and Comin and Davis were recognized for the third time.

In order to be a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, athletes must have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the previous academic year, must have been enrolled full time at the institution for the entire previous academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better during the previous academic year, excluding any summer grades.
