Nebraska swimmer Gena Jorgenson broke the 400 IM school record at the 2024 NCAA Championships on Friday in Athens, Ga., swimming a blistering 4:11.51. The sophomore from Aberdeen, S.D. shattered the previous record set in 1999 by Emma Johnson.
Jorgenson now holds six school records, after breaking her own 500 freestyle record yesterday. She finished 33rd in the 400 IM this morning, 10 spots ahead of her seeded time.
Jorgenson and Kelsey Clairmont will finish off the competition tomorrow with Jorgenson competing in the 1650 freestyle final at 5 p.m. (CT) and Kelsey Clairmont competing in the platform diving competition prelim at 9 a.m. (CT).
